General ENT Care

In addition to her subspecialty interest in sinus, nasal, and skull base surgery, Prof Lubbe also provides comprehensive general ENT care for adults and children.

Services Include

  • Ear conditions: hearing loss, tinnitus, ear infections, earwax removal
  • Throat conditions: recurrent tonsillitis, voice problems, swallowing difficulties
  • Paediatric ENT: grommets, tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy
  • Neck lumps and salivary gland conditions
  • Snoring and obstructive sleep apnoea assessment
  • Facial nerve conditions

Grommet Insertion

Grommets (tympanostomy tubes) are placed in the eardrum to ventilate the middle ear and drain fluid (glue ear). This is one of the most common ENT procedures in children, performed under brief general anaesthesia.

Tonsillectomy

Removal of the tonsils is recommended for recurrent tonsillitis (7 or more episodes per year), obstructive sleep apnoea, or peritonsillar abscess. It is performed under general anaesthesia, usually as a day procedure.
